Judge Phyllis Martinez Gonzalez
Candidate for 383rd District Court Judge
 
Judge Phyllis M. Gonzalez is a lifetime Texas Resident, born and raised in Houston, Texas. She has resided in El Paso, Texas for over 14 years. She has a 1996 Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Political Science from Houston Baptist University and a 1999 law degree from Texas Tech University School of Law in Lubbock, Texas.
 
She was a Managing Assistant Attorney General for the Office of the Attorney General Child Support Division from 2010 until she was appointed to serve as a Family Law Associate Judge for the Title IV-D Court #2 in October 2013.
 
Before becoming a Family Law Judge, she also had been an Assistant Attorney General and a Special Assistant United States Attorney for Office of the Attorney General Medicaid Fraud Control Unit.
 
Judge Gonzalez is the first Title IV-D Judge to establish an Enhanced Service Docket, providing information from Community Agencies and Organizations to all parties that goes beyond the courtroom. This is a collaborative effort to provide continuing support to families.
 
She has spent countless hours over the past several years volunteering as a Girl Scout Leader, Board of Director for Salvation Army, Board of Director for Greater El Paso Republican Women, and Knights of Columbus Wives.
 
Judge Gonzalez and her husband, Albert, have two beautiful daughters, Sophia and Amelia.
